Wally was my miracle baby. I knew the weekend before she delivered that Rebel was more uncomfortable than she should have been. Our vet monitored throughout the week, and we did the c-section on Friday afternoon -- as John and Gaga were flying to Denver for the agility events at the Boston Terrier Club of America national specialty.

At just under five ounces, Wally fit in the palm of my hand -- the littlest of his litter of four. He spent his first few minutes of life on oxygen, but took to momma and her milk very quickly, and the vet assured me that if Rebel and I could keep him warm and fed for three days, he was a fighter, and he'd thrive.

Rebel and I (and Teasha and Lily) did our parts -- and Wally did his. When John got home after the 2018 BTCA National Specialty, I announced that I didn't care if he ever set foot in a show ring; Wally was my keeper. A little over 6 months later he walked out of the ring at the Boston Terrier Club of Portland specialty with a four point major, his third trip in a slow circle. And in May 2019, he became Rebel's fourth champion and her "fastest finisher."

Wally's currently on an extended vacation with Laurie Burnham and Bill Heald who own our Sidney. Laurie and Wally are dabbling in Scentwork, Rally & Agility.
